Project Info:

Brandenburg was contracted to perform the environmental remediation and demolition of a 700,000-square foot warehouse and manufacturing building in Louisville, Kentucky. The building was part of a 1000-acre site with over 10 million square feet under roof that needed to remain in operation and uninterrupted. The steel structure was heavily damaged after a multiple alarm fire left the manufacturing building seriously damaged and the warehouse building partially collapsed toward the center of the building.

Preceding the start of onsite activities and in cooperation with the Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (APCD), a detailed demolition, asbestos abatement and health and safety plan was created.

The outer structure of steel and masonry remained mostly intact but was under a great deal of stress. Brandenburg isolated the office structure from the fire-damaged areas. This allowed the customer an opportunity to determine the viability of reclamation of the remaining structure.

The aggressive 12-week schedule was accomplished with no further environmental impact and zero safety incidents.
